Obituary of David Garfield Cox

David (Dave), born in Kingston ON, passed away suddenly but peacefully in his 79th year on March 1 in Venice, Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife Pam (Martin), his children Nadine, Stephen, Karin (Troy), Andrew (Jody), his grandchildren Ryan (Katana), Kylie (Brent), Rebecca and Kyle.  Also will be deeply missed by his beloved great-grandchildren Tanner, Deacon and Mylah.

Also grieving his loss is his beloved brother Roger (Maggie) and beloved sisters Dianne (Jack), Anne (Gerry), Nancy (John) and Candy (Bob) along with his many nieces and nephews and family members.

David was predeceased by his parents Richard Cox and Gladys (Ball) Harrison, and his sister Yvonne Cox.

An avid sportsman throughout his life, David enjoyed almost everything life had to offer, from his years in racing snowmobiles, cars and motorcycles, hunting, fishing, golfing and curling.  For many years David and his wife Pam enjoyed their passion for boating enjoying the 1000 Islands, various canals and waterways throughout their travels with family and friends. 

David`s love of cars began an early age which began his career, he excelled for years as a body mechanic & automobile painter, wish a passion for Corvettes.  Later on David enjoyed a successful career for many years as an Automobile Insurance Adjuster till his retirement.  In his retirement along with his wife Pam, they enjoyed many years at their summer home on Big Gull Lake and their winter home in Venice, Florida.

A Celebration of Life to remember Dave will be held on May 2, 2025 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Royal Kingston Curling Club, 130 Days Rd, Kingston ON.  Where David was a life time member and avid curler, which garnered him many club championships and bonspiels over the years.  We wish to encourage for those wishing to participate as this will be a causal event, we request people to wear jeans accompanied by a favourite automobile shirt.

A private graveside interment will be held for his loving family prior.

A special thank you to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Tidewell Hospice for their thoughtful care and assistance.
