Obituary of Barbara Hope St. Amour

ST. AMOUR, Barbara Hope (McLeod)

July 3, 1946 – August 5, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara St. Amour, who passed away at home on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in her 79th year.

Barbara was the heart and soul beside Jack for 65 years and his beloved wife for 56 of them. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

She was a cherished mother to Leslie and Craig. A proud and loving grandmother to Megan and Alison Vollick, as well as Cole and Hudson St. Amour.

She is predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Geraldine McLeod, and her dear sister Caroline, whose memories she carried close to her heart.

Barbara dedicated 37 years of service as a pharmaceutical assistant at Hotel Dieu Hospital, where she was known for her compassion, dedication, and strong work ethic.

Barb was caring beyond belief. She was warm, loving, even keeled and was the calmness to Jack’s fire. Barb ensured there was always a meal or snacks for anyone that needed it. She always made the best chocolate chip cookies and pasta! There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and friends.

Barb always kept a cool and calm demeanor to her, even in the worst situations. She was sharp as a tac with her smart and witty comebacks when she needed them. If you ever got the honour to witness her smile and hear her laugh, you would know it was contagious.

You could trust her with your secrets, dreams, and admirations. Even if she didn’t fully agree she would still provide support. Along with some guidance, words of wisdom, and snacks to go she’d send you on your way. Barb was one of a kind. Changing the lives of many in more ways than one. It was an honour to have you in our lives no matter what place you filled in it. No one will compare.

As she told me before, don’t ever say goodbye! That means you’ll never see me again. Say see you later instead… Because we will, we just don’t know when yet. We’ll see you later Barb. P.S. we miss you already XOXO

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in memory of Barbara may be

made to Martha's Table (donations – if you wish).
