Obituary of Edward Birchall

 

It is with great sadness that we announce Edward’s passing on Friday, August 8th, 2025, at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. 

Beloved father of David (Josie).   Cherished grandfather of Samantha (Ted) and Liam. Great grandfather to Isabella.   Predeceased by his wife Audrey (nee Biggs), sister Eunice A Millan, and parents Harry Birchall and May Lister.  Dear Uncle to Mark (Debbie) and Michelle (Steven). Will also be missed by Sister-in-law Elinor, niece Tracey and extended nieces and nephews. 

 

Ed loved playing and watching all sports but favored hockey. He was blessed to have the opportunity to travel and play semi-pro from 1950-1955 in Scotland, Switzerland, Germany, USA and Canada. Although hockey was his passion, his greatest accomplishment was the life he made with the love of his life Audrey. He talked frequently about the trips to Florida and the East Coast that they enjoyed together.   He made a career working at DuPont Canada for 37 years where his hard work as a foreman allowed him to retire early and enjoy his time with family. 

 

We will miss his wittiness, sense of humor and life lessons. Forever in our hearts. 

 

We would also like to thank all the nurses and doctors in his care at KHSC Connell 9 and the staff at Trillium community and retirement living. 

A private service will be held at a later date.
