Obituary of Carol Joy Murphy

 

 

Carol Joy (Fraser) Murphy –

KGH Class of 1960

 

She was born in Kingston, and she graduated from KGH in 1960 and completed her public health studies at the University of Ottawa in 1962 and worked in the Cornwall area as a V.O. nurse until 1972. Carol passed away on September 11, 2025.

 

Carol is predeceased by her parents Percy Fraser in 1972 and Irene Fraser in 1995. She is predeceased by her sister Barbara Scott (late Bill) in Ottawa and brothers Don (Betty) Fraser of Kingston and Neil (Carolyn) Fraser in B.C. She is survived by her best friend and husband Jerry Murphy of 60 wonderful years.

 

Carol was an active member of the Royal Kingston Curling Club for several years and a member of the Amherstview Golf Club for several years.

She enjoyed the many years at Senior Club and the movies and dining group of friends from the Curling Club as well as her special group of Ida, Mary Lou and Shirley, who met for movies and dining together.

 

After Jerry’s retirement in 1994, he and Carol travelled to Europe and North America many times. They also spent many years in Fort Myers, Florida from 1980 to 2002 during the Christmas Holidays and baseball spring training for six weeks. They went on seven river cruises in Europe and fifteen other cruises around the world.

 

Cremation has taken place and at Carol’s request, there will be no visitation. A private burial with arrangements in the care of Cataraqui Cemetery and Funeral Services will take place. If you wish to give a donation in her memory, please give to your favourite charity.
