Obituary of Joan Mary Hardie
Joan Hardie (née Hamilton)
Nov. 2, 2025 | Age 91 | Kingston
With love and gratitude, we share the passing of Joan Hardie (née Hamilton) on November 2, 2025, at the age of 91.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Gordon “Bud” Hardie, and her parents, Helen and Jack Hamilton. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Kathryn O’Donnell (née Hardie) and Karen Hardie (Jeremy Brazille); and her son David Hardie; her grandchildren Megan Cranney (O’Donnell), Ryan O’Donnell, Sara Brazille, and Jay (Lilly) Brazille; and her great-grandchildren Colton and Berkley Cranney.
Joan spent many years working for the Bank of Montreal, while raising her family. She was strong and independent, meeting both the joys and challenges of life with courage and wit. Hers was a life well lived — though, as she often said, was maybe a few years too long.
A matriarch until the end, Joan’s fierce spirit and love for her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the people she knew and those who had the privilege to be her family. She has passed down the laughter we shared, and the courage to meet life head on.
Although we know you are at peace, we would give anything for you to give direction to us once more.
Please join us from 11 to 1 on Nov 8/25 to share memories and celebrate her life. 690 Roosevelt Drive, Kingston
