Obituary of Madge Pennock

 

 

Madge Irene Pennock, 96, of Kingston, Ontario passed away peacefully on Monday March 9, 2026.

 

Born on May 7, 1929, to Thomas and Sophia Kring in Plevna, Ontario, Madge was the beloved wife of Bruce William Pennock, a devoted mother to Terry Ann, Kristine and Michael (Kathy), and the adoring grandmother of Jenna, Krissy, Maxine and Lee.

 

Her happiest moments were spent in nature, cultivating her gardens, cooking an amazing meal, collecting antiques, scrap booking, crafting and spending time on the East Coast in Emerald Isle, the West Coast in San Diego or back home in Plevna. She had a great passion for reading that began at a very young age. She loved to share her books with others.

 

She was the heart of our family, teaching us values of kindness, resilience and strength, the joys of life-long reading, the love of animals and always humor. She showed us the significance of cherished, enduring friendships and an unwavering commitment to family near and far.

 

Madge touched many hearts.

 

Madge is survived by her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

 

A service will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026, at 10:30 am at Cataraqui Cemetery and Funeral Services, 927 Purdy’s Mill Road, Kingston, Ontario - please meet at the Cemetery office at 10:15am.
