It is with profound sadness that the family of Michael Ambrose Campbell announces his passing on 8 July 2026, at the age of 74.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, on 3 February 1952, Michael was the beloved son of James and Margaret Campbell (née Leclerc). He lived a life defined by dedication to his family, professional excellence, service to his community and church, unwavering faith, and remarkable perseverance in the face of adversity.

Michael shared a devoted and loving marriage of 53 years with his cherished wife, Denise Campbell (née Bernier), whose partnership and companionship were the cornerstone of his life. Together they raised a close and loving family that remained his greatest source of pride and joy.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Allyson, Sean, Chantal, and Scott, and by his eight beloved grandchildren, Emmeline, Grey, Grace, Eve, Sophie, Olivia, Caleb, and Andi, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to his life. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather whose kindness, wisdom, and steadfast support touched all who knew him.

Michael enjoyed a distinguished career in the financial services industry. He began his professional journey with Imperial Life in London, Ontario, where his talent, integrity, and leadership abilities quickly became evident. He was subsequently transferred to Kingston, where he became one of the company's youngest branch managers at that time. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong belief in serving his clients, Michael later established his own financial consulting practice. Through hard work, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to those he advised, he built a successful and respected consultancy that served many families and businesses over the years.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael was deeply committed to serving both his community and his faith. He was an active and dedicated member of the Cataraqui Rotary Club, contributing countless hours in support of its charitable and community initiatives. His commitment to Rotary's ideals of Service Above Self led him to serve as President of the Club, a role he fulfilled with enthusiasm, integrity, and dedication. Michael was also a faithful and active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served on the parish Finance Committee and was a long-standing member of the church choir, generously sharing his time and talents in support of the parish community he loved.

Michael will also be remembered for his character. He faced the challenges of his later years with extraordinary courage, dignity, and faith. Even in the midst of significant adversity, he continued to carry himself with grace and determination, inspiring family and friends alike. His steadfast trust in God and his refusal to yield to hardship reflected a strength of spirit that defined him throughout his life.

Michael's legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lives he touched through his work, community service, faith, and friendship, and the example he set through a lifetime of integrity, generosity, and perseverance.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 490 Days Road in Kingston on Thursday, 16 July 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Cataraqui Cemetery.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to all who offered support, friendship, prayers, and care during Michael's final years, and in particular, the capable and compassionate staff at Arbour Heights Long-Term Care.
