The Cataraqui Cemetery Company operates per its own 1850 Act of Incorporation, the Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, 2010  (ONCA), and the provincial Funeral, Burial, and Cremation Services Act, 2002  (FBCSA).   

Cataraqui Cemetery also operates according to its own by-laws; which provide the Board of Trustees, Interment Rights Holders (members), staff, clients, and visitors with clear rules and regulations.  These by-laws are enforceable and cover wide-ranging matters such as corporate and member governance; member/interment rights holder rights; consumer rights;  preparation of contracts, interment rights; cemetery care & maintenance; marker & memorialization regulations; plantings; articles permitted at gravesites;  visitor conduct;  contractor conduct; and the operation of our on-site crematorium.
