Obituary of Mary McDonald

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth McDonald announce her passing on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at the age of 59, after bravely and gracefully living with brain cancer for 2 and a half years. Mary passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Providence Care Hospital. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband Mike McDonald, precious children Benjamin, Emma, Samuel, brother Phillip Scott, niece and nephew Taylor and Tanner Murdock. She will also be greatly missed by numerous cousins, uncle, extended family members, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother (Elizabeth, Daniel and Tim Scott).Mary always focused her life on family first, but her second passion was for her career as a nurse. She dedicated 37 years to caring for others in Toronto, Northern Canada, and Kingston.The family extends their immense appreciation to the many nurses, doctors, and staff for their compassionate care of Mary, including her neurosurgical, oncology, neurology, and palliative care teams.Due to current circumstances, a small private service will be held this week with immediate family, with a celebration of life to follow in the spring for extended family and friends.
