Obituary of Lina Rosa

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Lina on August 20, 2020, surrounded by loved ones, at Trillium Long Term Care Communitym Home. She was the most devoted beloved wife and best friend of the late George Rosa for sixty-two years. Selfless and loving mother to Ellen Baskin (Brent), Ann Rosa, and the late Margaret Rosa-Brown. Adored by her grandchildren Jonathan and Jordan Baldwin, Justine and Avery Brown. Lina is predeceased by her siblings Girolama, Clelia and Domenico of Italy. She will be forever in the hearts and minds of her nephews, nieces, family, friends and neigbours. She was born in Calabria, Italy and grew up in Genova where she met her soul mate "Giorgio". She immigrated to Canada in 1958 and proudly made it her home. She was a seamstress in her earlier years working at Meeks Tailor Shop, and later as a Lab Assistant in the Pharmacology Department at Queen's University. She was passionate about her cooking and created the most delicious, mouthwatering meals, always ensuring everyone’s bellies were full. That was her expression of love. She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved Atlantic City, casinos, vino, babies, and spoiling the dogs in her life. But foremost, family was everything to her.Lina will always be remembered for her loving, nurturing, generous nature and for her beautiful smile and sparkling eyes.We would like to especially thank Trillium for the compassionate care she received during these past six months.Funeral arrangements for both Lina and George will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at a date yet to be determined. If you would like to make a donation on Lina's behalf, please consider The Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
