Obituary of Rhea Ann Wood

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Dr. Rhea Ann Wood. She died peacefully in her sleep at her home on September 30th. She was a devoted mother to Cassandra, Chantelle and Colleen, better known as the Three C’s. She will be greatly missed by her former husband Joseph and her 4 beautiful grandchildren Patrick, Kevin, Sean, and Kara. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends and predeceased by her parents John and Muriel Wood. Mom was a brilliant woman. She graduated from Columbia University with a Doctorate in Neuro Psychology. With her degree she was able to open a private practice devoted to teaching children with learning disabilities.Mom had a big heart for animals and let us keep every stray we brought home. She also had a love for Siamese cats.In her spare time she played the piano, she was a classical pianist and won many prestigious awards. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and reading. She was blessed with a green thumb, I can remember lilac’s tall as trees and morning glories growing all over the fence in our yard.Christmas was her favorite holiday. Every Christmas she decorated the biggest real balsam tree she could find with colorful lights and sparking decorations. Then wrapped up presents for “her girls!” and placed them under the tree.She was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick and was laid to rest in Kingston, Ontario. You will be missed by all.
