Obituary of Dorothy Ann McLeod

Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022 at Providence Care Hospital in her 93^rd year.

Predeceased by her loving husband Ralph McLeod. Cherished mother of Tim Boal (Patti), Martin Boal (Elaine), Bonnie Timmins (Brian), Cheryl McLean (David) and Jon Boal (Colleen). Proud Grandmother of Ryan (deceased), Chad, Paige, Kristie, Matthew, Clinton, Gillian and Charlotte. Adored sister of Bob Martin, Mary Gordon, and the late James Martin and late Marion Gorrie. Ann will be missed by many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. “I’ll always be the boss”

Stuff has been after me for years.

You guys get off your butts and enjoy.

Life is short and eventually runs out.  I have completed my Bucket List and added a few.

Our society doesn’t want to talk about aging and death because we are entrenched in a belief that quantity of years is always preferred over quality of life.  This is largely driven by advancement in life prolonged technology and treatments.

So when should we forgo these treatments and go to “Comfort Caring”

We all should have conversations

Residents who have moved into long term care often feel they’ve lost their voice.

It’s time to break the awkward silence.

Let’s get everyone talking.
