Obituary of Richard Allan Ubukata

 On July 7^th, 2023 Richard Allan Ubukata died suddenly at the age of 58 after suffering most of his adult life with schizophrenia.  Richard was loved and will be missed by his parents, Robert Zentaro Ubukata, Marjorie Florence Ubukata, his sisters Kimberley Anne Ubukata, and Karen Allison Maw (Ubukata), his brother-in-law Terry Richard Maw, and his nephew Quinten Ontaro Maw.  Richard’s parents had an extraordinary, relentless, and unconditional love for their son.  Richard was not average.  He was charming, witty, and incredibly resourceful.  Despite having a life altering mental illness, Richard obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree.  The City of Kingston has an impressive support system. Local services that provided ongoing mental health assistance to Richard for over twenty years, included the Kingston Police, Addiction and Mental Health Services - KFLA, Kingston General Hospital, and Providence Care Hospital.
