I was new to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2001 and didn't have any friends to call on. Marilyn telephoned me one morning, introduced herself, and invited me to go with her to a local German festival. I was thrilled and so appreciative, to say the least! She had been the only person who had ever extended that individual kindness in all our military assignments.
Marilyn became my ski partner and best friend. I am at a loss to not have Marilyn in my world anymore! Carol McCarthy

I've had the utmost love for Marilyn since I was a youth in care. She was such an amazing soul with an astute ability with each kid she came into contact with. She will be greatly missed by many who happened through the doors of the Children's Aid Society. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly by myself and countless others.

My wife, Carol, and I were great admirers of Jack and Marilyn. I worked with Jack at the Marshall Center while Marilyn and Carol went skiing. Both Marylyn and Carol knew a good thing when they saw it. Also, I was in the U.S. military for 33-years and never came close to a meaningful visit to that many countries. I don't think North Korea would have been nice to me. Both of us are saddened by her passing and I am sure she is busy behind the Pearly Gates working to help others. I hope you can find some comfort in your many special memories and in the thought of the happy years you shared. Sincerely, Mike and Carol McCarthy

I knew Marilyn from our Book Club. She was an example to all of us of how to live life to the fullest. Marilyn always had fascinating stories about her travels to extraordinary places.
She had a keen interest in so many things. I shall remember her fondly & extend my heartfelt to her family.

Marilyn, I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said about you. You were not only a co-worker, but a great friend. We shared many laughs and crazy times. To you, life was a challenge and you sure hit it head on, you never let any one or anything stand in your way. You were one amazing woman. I feel privileged to have known you, Laura and Jack..
You have already embarked on your next trip, where you will be pain free . The next time I see a plane overhead, I'll think, "there she goes again".
Rest in Peace Marilyn.

We just shared a 14 day transatlantic cruise with Jack and Marilyn. We got to know them and we enjoyed our conversation together in the Summer Palace. We were interested in their travels and their time spent in Germany. We found her to be a very interesting person to talk to. We are thankful to have met her.

To know Marilyn was to love her. I will cherish our walks around the Kingston waterfront until a few years ago always learning of a new adventure she had taken.
Marilyn never asked why but why not and went on to try everything that she could.
I will miss her dearly.

Marilyn....What an amazing person she was, and what a legacy she leaves behind. I wish so much that I had tried harder to keep in touch...a lesson learned too late. She will be remembered.
Deepest sympathy to you, Jack.
