Obituary of Earl D. Petersen

On September 24, 2021 Earl in his 95th year passed away peacefully at the Mapleview Lodge in Athens, ON. Loving husband of Joy Petersen. Loving father of Detlef Petersen and daughter in-law Kristin Petersen. Grandfather to Beau, Ashley, Stacey, Curtis, Stephanie and Marisa. And a handful of great grandchildren. Dear son of the late Carl and Frieda Petersen. Brother to the late Loyd Petersen and Dorothy Gagely.About Earl Petersen:Earl was born in Lafleche Saskatchewan and grew up on a ranch in southern Saskatchewan. He loved farming and working with cattle and enjoyed playing in a band. In his early thirties Earl was drawn to a love for Jehovah and dedicated his life to him. He moved east to Ontario to work in the full time ministry for Jehovah. In Cornwall Ontario he met Joy Petersen and they were married on August 20th 1960. Together they went into the missionary field in the Maritimes. They moved back to Hamilton On and in 1964 there son was born.Welder: Earl took a welding course in Hamilton to have a trade to be able to provide for his family. He also served as an elder in the Hamilton congregation.Farming: Earl moved to Ingleside where he eventually bought an 80 acre farm and continued to do what he loved, farming. He always put Jehovah’s interests first.Family: Earl enjoyed spending time with the family and enjoyed playing cards and eating a good meal prepared by his wife Joy.Future: Earl looked forward to the time when God’s Kingdom under Jesus Christ’s rule would transform the earth into a paradise. He will be happy to be a part of that when his friend and God Jehovah resurrects him to live again in that paradise.
