Obituary of Charles Douglas Collins

Passed away with his family by his side at Kingston Health Sciences Center (KGH) on Friday, October 22, 2021 in his 85th year. Loving husband of 64 years to Mildred (nee Brodie). Dear father of Kevin and the late Shawn (1993). Proud grandpa of Tara (Tim) Davis and Eric (Jamie) Collins and great-grandpa of Benjamin, Gavin, Decklin, Cam and Braxden. He will be missed by his siblings, Bonnie (Jim), Beth (Denyse), Greg (Tillie); sister-in-law, Aletha; brother-in-law, Donald Winston Brodie and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Emerson, Don, and Leslie and his sisters, Marlene and Linda. Douglas was a long-time employee of Bell Canada for 32 years until his retirement in 1991. Doug was an avid boater, loved spending time at his cottage with his family, neighbors and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Douglas’ memory may be made to Inverary United Church or University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Cardiac Care Unit).
