My condolences to Ken's family. My knowledge of Ken and his brother Colin are pretty much confined to numerous conversations I had with them outside the doors of the Kingston Boxing Club or from talking to former students of mine who were coached by them. To a person, we all loved and admired both of them. Given that, I can honestly say that Ken was an exceptionally honest, humble, good man who had a gift for influencing people to be better, not just in their boxing skills but in discipline and character. He was everything a great teacher is supposed to be. In an age when bogus heroes and shabby role models are foisted on us every day, it's great to be reminded that a real hero can be found among us. God bless Ken and his family.
