Obituary of Kay Burdsall

Passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the age of 70. Katie was the dearly loved sister of Liz (Dave) Ellwood, Anne Lombard (Dave Bell), Marian Burdsall (David Morris) and Jane (Maurice) Pinco. Katie was the proud and adoring aunt of Jim Ellwood (Rebecca Bartlett), Suzie Ellwood, Josh (Jeanette) Lombard, Jody (Beth) Lombard, Levi Morris, Ben Morris (Nailah King), Matthew Bumstead, Jacob Bumstead and Abi Pinco. Cherished great-aunt of Lauren, Brier, Presley, Avery, Bailey, Danyal, Maya and Emery. Katie was predeceased by her loving Mom and Dad, Margaret and Bernard Burdsall and infant great-nephew Sebastian Floyd-Lombard. Katie will be missed by her good friend Diane Brown who cared for Katie like a sister, and her dear friend Chris O’Connor with whom Katie so happily shared a birthday. Sincere thanks to Dr. Fulvio Paolucci of St Mary’s of the Lake Hospital and Dr. Katherine Santos of Providence Care Hospital for their kind and gentle care of Katie and for their support given to her sisters. Endless thanks to the staff of 3 South and Gibson 3 of St Mary’s and Lakeview 2 of PCH for their care of Katie and for sharing stories and photos of their children, horses, cats and most especially their dogs which made her day. Thanks also to the staff and volunteers from every department at St. Mary’s/PCH whose care and friendship towards Katie gave joy to her life. A memorial service will be held at Crossroads United Church, 690 Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1 o’clock. In Katie’s memory, kindly consider a donation to The Kingston Humane Society, Crossroads United Church, Kingston Access Services, or UHKF (PCH/Volunteer Services/Inpatient Activities).
