Obituary of Fred Hulme

Our hero has gone to join his angel - July 14, 2019Born May 25, 1938 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Fred was the son of the late Edmund and Gladys Hulme (nee Rossiter). Fred was predeceased by his loving and loyal wife of 56 years, Heather Hulme (nee Moyse). He will be greatly missed by his five daughters, Lori Hulme, Sheri Leadston (Jeff), Tracey Naysmith (John), Tammy Hulme and Chantelle Bennett (Jim), as well as his thirteen Grandchildren; Christopher, Jordan (Jessica), Scott, Noah, Connor, Scott (Miranda), Madeline, Joshua, Ian, Heather, Alec, Shaun and Andrew and his five Great-Grandchildren Camden, Braxden, Lukas, Rohklin, and Willow. He is survived by his brothers, Joe McKinnon (Gayle), Kingston, Rick MacDonald (Karen), New Brunswick, John McKinnon (Maureen), Harold Kethro and Rob Gorham (Angie) all of Nova Scotia, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother John Fredricks. Fred joined the Canadian Military as a young man and served 31 years in the signal corps. Along the way Fred made many friends and established a very large Military Family. Fred retired in 1986 and went on to open his own business which afforded him the time to follow his creative passions. Fred designed and created many beautiful and original pieces of furniture for his family, which will allow his legacy to live on and be passed down to future generations. The family wishes to thank the staff at KGH – Kidd 9 for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place at Cataraqui Cemetery. Visitation will be held at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Boulevard on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the James Reid Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Cataraqui Cemetery. Reception at James Reid Reception Centre, all welcome. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Fred’s memory may be made to UHKF (KGH – Oncology).
