Dear Judy, Jeff, Kate, Janet and family: I was thinking about your mom the other day and then read this morning of her passing in the local paper's obituaries section. I am glad to hear that she was taking good care of in her last years. I have always had wonderful, warm memories of me and my family visiting your family in Trenton where we first moved when we came to Canada in 1957 from England. Your family welcomed us and I always remember wonderful Friday nights in which we came to your house and everyone, the grownups and the kids, had great times. I hope to see you all on July 20. The last memory I have is of me taking my dad, then in his 90s and using a walker, to the Cataraqui Ccemetery to the service for your dad. My dad was a bit withdrawn in those days after my mom died but he very much wanted to get up and say something about his long friendship with your dad. That warm embrace of your family was something my family needed as new immigrants to Canada. And the friendship of our parents survived a lifetime even through long periods of connection through letters only. I always found it interesting that your parents ended back in Kingston where mine had spent most of their lives in Canada.
