Obituary of Shirley Marie Godkin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Nan. With her Husband by her side, on the morning of her 81st birthday November 23rd, 2017. Cherished wife of 57 years to Bob and a loving mother, grandmother, confidante, and friend. Fondly remembered by all that knew her. Born in Buchans, Newfoundland, she moved to Ontario at a young age but never stopped being a proud Newfoundlander. Marie was a fixture at the Amherstview IGA for a number of years, where she took great pride in managing the bakery. She was intelligent, feisty, hard working, and knew all the good recipes. The family would like to thank Dr Kenneth Pritchard, Dr Andrew Robinson, Dr Ingrid Harle and the excellent staff at the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario and Providence Care Heritage 2. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the palliative care education fund at Providence Care Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
