Obituary of Francis Wilbert Jermey

WWII Veteran Francis (Frank) Jermey passed away peacefully at KGH on May 7, 2017 in his 94th year. Francis Jermey beloved husband of Irene (predeceased). Dear father of Gale Hickey of Kingston and Gary Jermey (Penny) of Bath, ON. Lovingly remembered by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In keeping with Franks wishes, cremation has taken place. Frank Jermey was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces for 30 years serving in the Korean War, UN peacekeeping and the Yom Kipper War. After serving in the armed forces Frank worked for the Ministry of Environment as a Safety Officer. His dedication to community was an important part of his life serving as a volunteer fire fighter with the Storrington Township as well as mentoring young rifle shooters at the Rod and Gun Club and the DCRA (Dominion of Canada Rifle Assoc. Frank and Irene were also well known for their famous Family run, Pick your own strawberries located on the Washburn Rd as well as the sugar bush with bottling and selling maple syrup. He loved staying active working on the farm but always found time for his love of fishing and hunting. A private graveside interment has taken place. A Celebration of Life in Frank’s Memory will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion(734 Montreal St, Kingston, ON) on Saturday, June 3rd from 11:30am to 3:30pm. Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Association would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
