Hugh McInnis was a gentleman in the full sense of the word. My father and the Silver Fox knew each other professionally at CFB North Bay in the 70's, and his daughter Karin and I were BFF's for two formative years at the time. My dad had the greatest respect for CWO McInnis, and I spent many winter days under the ski tutelage of Karin and Hugh; Karin and enjoyed many mildly(!) scandalous young teen adventures. I remember Hugh as an avid skier, runner, dog lover, family man et al. He was a fun dad for Karin, loving husband of Berta; he built a life of humour and integrity after a modest beginning. ...a life well lived, and honourably.
