Obituary of Casabianca King

Passed away peacefully at home, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving family including wife Ursula, daughters Shirley and Stephanie and son-in-law Bayne Saunders. His grandchildren Steven Monahan, Christopher and Kassidy Saunders will also dearly miss their Opa. Cas is also remembered by other extended family members, a large network of good friends all around the world and by the many volunteer organizations he worked with. Cas was born on September 29, 1938 in Morrisville, Newfoundland to Edwin King and Dorothy Taylor. He grew up in Isle aux Morts with his siblings Frank, Ken, Edgar and Winnie and a large extended family before joining the military at the age of 18. It was during a posting to Germany where he met the love of his life, Ursula. They went on to enjoy over 54 years of marriage, moving many times before Cas' final posting and subsequent retirement in Kingston. The family would like to thank the Faith United Church community for their on-going support as well as all the family and friends who provided care and assistance during Cas' lengthy illness. A special thank you is extended to the caregivers who provided care during hospital stays and while at home. A Celebration of Life, followed by a reception will be held at Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, at 4080 Bath Road, Kingston on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to Hospice Kingston-Residential Hospice Fund or to Faith United Church. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
