Ruth was a first cousin of mine, my mother Margaret Gummer and Ruth's dad Ross Plumton were siblings. We saw each other often when we were growing up. Ruth was an accomplished pianist, she felt the music when she played. I took piano lessons from Ruth after my former music teacher retired. She always picked the current tunes for me to learn, which was a treat after doing Royal Conservatory pieces. Both Rick and I send our sincere sympathy to Mike and family at this time of loss.
